How Sport Helped Pete Reconnect with Community

For 81-year-old Pete Simpson, a fortnightly game of ten pin bowling is more than knocking down pins.

After years marked by loss, loneliness and isolation, Reclink's Ten Pin Bowling program has given him something he values most: connection.

"It's the friendships," Pete says. "I look forward to the bowling every fortnight because it gets me out of the house and I'm amongst good company and friends."

Sport and recreation isn't a luxury. It's a lifeline.

Just $17 can get one person into a sport and recreation class. Help us raise $5,000 so we can put 300 people through classes next year.

Memberships are open year-round and help more Australians access the connection, confidence and belonging that sport canprovide.

With community sport costing many families
$4,500 a year, your support helps remove barriers to participation and create life-changing opportunities through sport and recreation.

“Across Australia, too many people remain marginalised, disconnected, and living with the health consequences that come from a lack of activity and social belonging.”

“Our vision is that sport and recreation is accessible and recognised as an essential service for community wellbeing."
